Almost 8 years ago we did something profoundly daft. A few hours later, to a reaction of excitement and panic, we won the auction. And so started our journey with Greg the Defender. The hoot soon turned to hmmm as we started the registration process however. Getting the car sorted turned out to cost as much as the purchase price and a couple of months of fool.
3 guys in kayaks paddling from Melbourne to King Island, via the Tasmanian north coast. Thoughts on a long ocean paddle. Sea-kayaking a long way gives you lots of time to think . Seaweed floating alive near the surface of the ocean is beautiful. Penguins look at you in a way that seems to say What the hell are you doing out here in that skinny little red thing? Wandering Albatrosses look at you in a way that feels reassuring. Also judging by the weather forecasts, if we had waited for.

I have done quite a few trips over the years and paddling this 70km section of the mighty Murray in February 2015 has to be one of my all time favourites.
